NMA Radio: Our 100th Episode: A Look Back and Forward

Birthday candles number one hundred isolated on white background

Can you believe it? A hundred episodes! We’ve come a long way with No Meat Athlete Radio over the past few years, and with two new episodes every week for the past few months, it’s safe to say we’ve finally hit our stride.

To celebrate, in this episode co-host Doug and I take a behind-the-scenes look at the show. We talk about where we’ve struggled and what we’ve done well, the lessons we’ve learned from hosting a podcast for this long, and the new ideas and changes (and even the possibility of a live event!) that we’ve got planned for the next year.

And of course, it wouldn’t be a celebration without asking for a gift, right? If you’d like to help us out and shape the next year of NMA Radio content, we’d really appreciate it if you’d share your thoughts in this quick listener survey.

To the next 100!

Here’s what we talk about in this episode:

  • Why we almost quit the podcast last year
  • Life on the other side of “the dip”
  • The top 5 episodes in NMA Radio history
  • What’s coming in the next year (including a live event?)

  1. I listen to you guys everyday on my way to work. I’m glad iTunes now has loaded all of your episodes.

    Here’s to 100 more!

  2. Hi there!
I just wanted to say that I love listening to your podcast and eagerly wait for the notifications in my email. I am also delighted when I see other No Meat Athletes (identified by the shirts) at running and vegan events.
This is more of a request but I would love to hear a podcast about feet! I enjoyed reading Doug’s blog post from his Rock Creek Runner site. I have also read Born to Run and am currently reading The Endurance Handbook. Both of these books talk about feet and the importance of being barefoot. After reading these books I just think feet are amazing marvels of engineering! So I guess I would like to hear about feet and taking care of them and helping to prevent blisters and stuff from extended running. Thanks and great work!

  3. I just have a suggestion for future podcasts. What about doing book reviews or documentary reviews. There are always new books about the health benefits of a plant based diets coming out and I love reading them. I know you guys love reading up on this stuff too. Same goes for the documentaries.

  4. Congrats on 100! I’ve been loving all the podcasts and glad to hear the plans for the future (yay, for an interview with Dreena!). I am anxious to hear more interviews, but also enjoy hearing the Matt and Doug banter. Keep them coming!

  5. Jessica Lenarth says:

Loved the podcast with Dreena Burton! I would love to receive her cookbooks (or at least one) as I am raising a newly vegan child. My whole family is vegan at home, but my 12 year old has been full time since October! I put in the address you mentioned on the podcast, but it brought me here (not 127 😝). Hope this works!!! Thanks for a great podcast guys!! I listen to every one of em’!
